Dania and Jason planned the most perfect intimate wedding, which included Dania’s daughters as the bridal party, and under 20 guests of just immediate family. To them, that was perfect, and I could not agree more!
The Sebring Mansion Inn & Spa is about an hour and forty minutes south of me, from Madison, Ohio. A bit of a drive, but I don’t mind, give me all of the destination weddings!! When I pulled up and saw how grand this mansion was, I was in awe. It is almost finished with all of its restorations. The outside is complete, and only the back half of the inside is still being worked on. It is glorious, from the stained glass windows to the glass door knobs. My couple could not have picked a better location for their wedding!!
The ceremony was in the foyer, surrounded by intricate chandeliers and gorgeous windows. Following the ceremony, the family gathered for appetizers and drinks while we started on the formal photos. I could have photographed this couple all day in that mansion, so many possibilities!! We wrapped up their photos just in time for dinner on the third floor, in a beautiful dining room & bar. Take a look at how gorgeous it all was!!! Give me all of your mansion & destination weddings!!
Thanks to an amazing platform, called Two Bright Lights, today I am able to say that I am officially published online for the first time. What a dream!!! Two Bright Lights is an amazing platform for photographers to get their work seen by editors and published online and in print. I met one of the owners of Two Bright Lights, Meghan Stolar Brown, while on an AKP Retreat in Destin, Florida. Meghan was an amazing teacher about how to get published, what the editors want to see, and what to photograph to get published. Since meeting Meghan, and following the tips she gave me, I have received notice that I have another ten publications coming up this year! That is amazing! My goal now, when I walk in to every wedding day, is to get that gorgeous Northeast Ohio or destination wedding published, not just for myself and my business, but for my amazing clients and other vendors from that day.
Yesterday, Aisle Memories, published Jessica & Aaron’s beautiful wedding from last summer. Aisle Memories is, according to it’s founders Liana & Jamie : “…a wedding blog about everything related to weddings and beyond with inspiration, ideas, insight, planning tips and tricks, showcasing gorgeous real weddings, and venue tours, and community forums. Everything comes from the perspective of a recent bride who is also a wedding coordinator and planner.”
Jessica & Aaron are the sweetest of couples. Parents to three little ones, they planned their Northeast Ohio wedding from all the way down in Columbus, Ohio, along with help from Aaron’s brother in-law Matthew. Matthew and I had worked together in the past, and I was so happy when he reached out to me about being their wedding photographer. The couple got ready, separately, at the gorgeous Steele Mansion Inn in Painesville, Ohio. Here I was able to capture beautiful bridal portraits of Jessica, and some of Aaron and their twin boys. Their wedding ceremony & intimate reception dinner were at Quail Hollow Country Club in Concord, Ohio. The ceremony was held right on the golf course, with dinner and cake in the country club following the formal photos.
Check out my first online feature below! You will be able to see how amazing Jessica looked in her Allure Bridals gown!
Just last month, I attended the my fourth AKP Retreat, in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was, as always, an amazing experience. We spent four days exploring the city, talking business and photography, and meeting new and amazing faces. I find it ironic that this retreat was a year after my first AKP Retreat in Nashville, Tennessee. It was that retreat that changed my entire business, my focus, and my continued education. I cannot thank my dear friend, Aston Kelley-Werkmeister of Ashton Kelley Photography, enough for all that she has taught me, encouraged me, and inspired me. Not only in my business and photography, but in my personal life. I love you girl, I know you are reading this!!
Ashton knew of a fellow wedding photographer & her husband, both the team of Megan Crawford Photography in New Orleans. She reached out to Megan & Jarred, as the time we were there they were celebrating their five year anniversary. Lucky us, we got the honor of capturing their wedding anniversary photos! We had so much fun exploring the Garden District of New Orleans with these two. Such a sweet & gorgeous couple, and so in love!
I had to throw in there some behind the scenes shots of my goofy friends, lol, so you all can see how much fun we have when shooting together. I love my AKP girls!! The trust and bonds we share are forever. These are my people.
I fell in love with New Orleans, and am now dreaming of going back as a destination wedding photographer. In another blog, I can show you two more couples sessions we did outside of the Garden District, in the French Quarter. I can find beauty anywhere, I can find the light and shadows anywhere, and I can make beautiful photographs anywhere for my clients. Planning a destination wedding in New Orleans, or anywhere in the world? I am your girl.
Let’s talk about style. These two are the perfect example of what to where to your anniversary session, and even an engagement session. The mix of beautiful florals on Megan’s dress, combined with the clean blue suit that Jerrod wore, it is perfection. Have I ever mentioned how much I love a flowy skirt or dress in a session? They photograph beautifully!
I am a Northeast Ohio Wedding & Portrait Photographer, based out of a small Lake County town, called Madison. But, I have a wanderlust soul, and want to see the world. My goal for 2018 is to book my first destination wedding, and I can’t wait to see it happen! I would love to go back to New Orleans, but would also love to explore Maine, Oregon, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico(I will be there in June!), South Carolina, and much more.
Take a look back soon, for more couple’s from New Orleans!
Thanks for joining me, and thanks for being patient as I set up my new blog! As you may have noticed, my new website was launched in January, but the blog section took much longer. Now, I am so excited to share with you all of my Northeast Ohio weddings, seniors, engagements and more! You will now be able to keep up to date with all of my adventures! Next up: The AKP Retreat in New Orleans! Yup, all of us lady bosses will be taking over NOLA later this March, and I could not be more excited!
The image of myself above was taken at the last AKP Retreat, in Destin, FL, by the talented April Mobley of April B Photography. April was my roommate in our gorgeous Destin rental house, and I had a blast getting to know her. I had the time of my life in Destin, making new friends and continuing to educate myself through lectures, styled shoots, and taking head shots for each other and our photography businesses. Meet some of my friends below!
While you wait to see my adventures from NOLA, check back to see all of my recent work! I can’t wait to show you all I have in store for 2018 here in Northeast Ohio and beyond!
